The Pale Blue Dot is something Devin taught so many of us about, and now it immediately brings us back to him. Inspired by Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot, it’s the idea that our world - every person, every story, every moment - exists on a tiny pale blue dot suspended in the universe. It puts into perspective how small we are, how brief life can be, and how meaningful it is to spend our time loving deeply, supporting one another, and making the most of the moments we’re given.
After Devin passed, many of his close family and friends got the Pale Blue Dot tattooed in his memory, a symbol of the perspective and meaning he carried through life. Karen’s remains open in the center, a quiet reminder of the space his loss left in her world.
